About Me

I started sewing over 45 years ago. Used to make all my own clothes. Made a few quilts. Back then there weren’t any long arm machines. Most quilts didn’t even have free motion quilting. Just hand tied yarn in the corners of each patch. Eventually my life got busy and I stopped sewing.

About 3 years ago I saw a pattern of a beautiful quilt by Jinny Beyer. I wanted to make it, but the pattern said it was an “expert” level. I hadn’t sewn anything in over 30 years. I figured that I should make some quilts that were rated “beginner” and see how those turned out. I was hooked! Started out by learning how to do free motion quilting. Wasn’t too bad on a small quilts, but I could see a big problem working on queen or king size ones. I had never heard of a long arm quilting machine before this. I did a little research and went to a local quilt show. I was impressed with the artistry of the quilts displayed in both the beauty of the quilt top and the quilted designs. Now I had to buy a long arm quilting machine that was computer/robot operated. Ended up purchasing a Tin Lizzie Ansley 26.

I have made over 60 quilts in the last 2 years. Mostly for family and friends. I wanted to get really good at my craft before offering my services for a fee. I have made and donated bee themed quilts to the beekeepers club that I belong to. They raffled them off. Made over $900 on the first quilt and over $450 on the second one. One of my fellow beekeepers liked the first one so much that he commissioned me to make him the same one.

At this point I consider myself to be a quilting expert and ready to tackle that Jinny Beyer quilt.

I am not a big store wholesaler. I bought all of these quilting items at retail (on sale) intending to use them myself. COVID has caused quite a bit of financial difficulty for us and I am selling them pretty much at the price I bought them in order to have some cash flow. I hope you understand that I don’t really have much room for better sales. Otherwise I am paying you to take my quilting items. 🙂

I hope the reduced prices on the quilting supplies I offer make quilting just a little more affordable for you. Happy Quilting!
